Pop Princess Kylie Minogue, whose brave battle with cancer inspired millions, has said she is “deeply touched” to get an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours.

The Australian star is joined by Michael Parkinson, the master of the TV chat show, who gets a knighthood and Des Lynam, the distinguished sports commentator, who receives an OBE for services to sport.

Lynam described the honour as “a splendid surprise” which made him feel “truly privileged”.
Stuart Rose, 58, the man who turned round Marks & Spencer, gets a knighthood, heading a list of some of Britain’s most successful retailers.
There are also honours for stars like the actor Sir Ian McKellen, who becomes a Companion of Honour, Julie Walters and Leslie Phillips.

Unofficial figures show that the 2007 Christmas special Voyage of the Damned was watched by 12.2 million viewers, a 50% share of the total television audience. This is the highest rating the show has achieved since its return in 2005.
The programme was the second most watched of the day, being beaten by the edition of EastEnders immediately following Doctor Who.

The audience peaked in the last fifteen minutes of the show with a massive 13.8 million watching, nearly 55% of the audience. The five minute breakdown shows that over 15 million watched the last five minutes of the programme.

Wow has entered UK’s official chart at the very impressive #32 - just after only one performance and no promotion at all! It’s very impressive and shows how huge potential this song has! Congrats Kylie!

The song is officialy set for release on February 25, but I do hope that this date willbe pushed forward!

I have finally added a couple of MQ photos of Kylie performing with Leon, the X Factor winner. The duo sang Kylie’s iconic classic Better The Devil You Know. 5 photos have been added.

Kylie’s got her own show on Radio 1 on Christmas Day, so why not tune in at 1pm to hear her playing some of her favourite tracks and chatting with David Tennant, star of Doctor Who. Then at 6.50pm you could tune your telly to BBC1 and watch her being chased by homicidal angels in the Doctor Who Christmas special.

And if that’s not enough you can welcome in the new year watching Kylie performing with the big band on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny from 11.05pm BBC1 on 31 Dec.
